Bug - cannot keep users from editing specific fields?

4 years 6 months ago #1 by icfsingapore
I have a field that I want to edit as a site admin, but I don't want any users to be able to edit it.
However, I want the field to be visible to them and to the public.

This is supposed to be possible, correct?
I've set the "editable" option to "X" but when I log in as a random regular user, I can still edit it.
(Screenshot below!)

Also, when I log in as a random use, I can edit other people's profiles as an admin...
What is wrong with my fieldgroup settings? (Screenshot below!)

Hello,

Can you check the config of JoomProfile.
There you must have selected wrong type of user group for Profile Editing. You make leave it empty if you do not to allow user to edit other's profile orselect the proper usergroup.

Do not allow used to edit field mean user won't see that articular field to edit, but he will see the edit button to edit other fields.

I hope it makes sense.

Thank you

Ah! I understand. The Profile Editor option is in Config -- I was trying to change the one in Fieldgroup, but that one seems to be able whether a fieldgroup is visible or not.

Resolved, thank you!
