Doesnt seem to work correctly

6 years 6 months ago #1 by Adam Clark
Hi just installed and enabled this plugin but have some issues.

1) It doesn't load in the 'validation.js' file .... so we had to load it directly into the template.
2) When checking the confirm password / confirm email .... the error message only says 'undefined'

URL to see it in action :: www.snipsquirrel.com/login

Any ideas?

Hello Adam,

Probably you are not using core Joomla registration.
So what you need to do is update below line of code in the pluign's file according to url or your registration component.
               if($app->input->get('option', '') != 'com_users'){   // add proper component
			return true;
		}

		if($app->input->get('view', '') != 'registration'){  // add proper view
			return true;
		}

Thank you

Hi

The joomla sign up is using the core joomla component.

Where do i go to change the line of code you suggested .... is that in your component?

The rest of your checking seems to work ok though ... apart from 'undefined' ...

Add below 2 lines of code in your template also.
JText::script('PLG_SYSTEM_F90_REGISTRATION_VALIDATION_MSG_REGISTER_EMAIL2_MESSAGE');
JText::script('PLG_SYSTEM_F90_REGISTRATION_VALIDATION_MSG_REGISTER_PASSWORD1_MESSAGE');

Thank you

Ok, so adding in "JText::script('PLG_SYSTEM_F90_REGISTRATION_VALIDATION_MSG_REGISTER_EMAIL2_MESSAGE');
JText::script('PLG_SYSTEM_F90_REGISTRATION_VALIDATION_MSG_REGISTER_PASSWORD1_MESSAGE');" to our template has fixed the 'undefined' issue.

Does that mean we do not need to worry about adding in this bit of code anywhere? :
if($app->input->get('option', '') != 'com_users'){ // add proper component
return true;
}

if($app->input->get('view', '') != 'registration'){ // add proper view
return true;
}

Hello Adam,

Sorry for delay in reply.
Yes you are not required to do any changes in code. Our plugin work on Joomla's registration url. But seems the url of your website's registration is different, thats why I asked you to do the changes in your template.

It will be great if you can share your view on JED.
